A Levels are a bit silly really. Universities can't tell the bright kids anymore because the grades are all so good.

yet again the pass rate has increased and they deny lowering the criteria or making exams easier
experience tells me that each year our apprentices get more and more stupid and know less and less
but honestly.... they arent lowering the criteria or making exams easier !!!

say that when your kidz are taking them :smiley16:
what they seem to lack these days is common sense, the ability to listen & learn, direction, motivation...etc theyve been wrapped in cotton wool unlike days of yore when your mum sent you out in the morning & you werent expect back til late
schools taught practical shit as well like woodwork & cooking

A-Levels are not being dummed down, the change is that we are teaching kids to pass exams now, whereas when i was at school, i was given an education that wasnt afraid to deviate from the specification given by the exam boards.
Its not teaching anymore, its coaching!

target culture then? So really its not been dumbed down but its been devalued because more people can pass them
Hmmm dunno if thats a good thing or not, I remember when I was at school the 6th form had maybe a 25 or 30 of the keenest brightest pupils now there are hundreds staying on
Todays A level work looks hard to me
I think the quality of teachers has gone down overall I bet youve got a few useless colleagues subs?
