To be honest i wouldn't buy anythin gelse other than technics, but i do know alot of ppl are using numark and stanton decks these days. Vestax or also quite popular but they are just as expensive as techinics.

Sorry, not much help i know, but it might (vaguely) point you in the right direction.

Theres a thread going over at scottishdrumandbass.com, that might give you some pointers: http://www.scottishdrumandbass.com/viewtopic.php?t=16559&amp (http://www.scottishdrumandbass.com/viewtopic.php?t=16559&highlight=turntable) ;highlight=turntable(just ignore the first few replies)

Good luck matey:smiley2:

I remember Soundlab DLP1's being a worthy beltdrive turntable for the amateur dj. They performed just as well as many direct driver models.

If you really want Technics, I would personally recommend getting a 12month interest free credit card and a Pay Pal account and then buying a second hand set on eBay. Then pay the balance off monthly for a year. Easy.

As everyone will tell you, Technics are worth the investment - however, I can recommend the Stanton brand to you without reservations. I got mine on my 17th birthday - i'm 22 now and they haven't let me down yet. If you're coming from an economical perspective, like I was, thenStanton are quite a contender. In regards to mixers... strokes for folks, depends what you're looking for I suppose... I use the Eccler brand and it's more sturdy than the New Zealand front-rows lol

Let us all know what you get :smiley2:

(IMHO avoid the Kam brand like the plague - no resilience at all!!!)

agreed - avoid kam

you missunderstood me, sorry.

I used technics just for an exaple, thats why i asked.

I've gotīno problem with beld drive turns, i think forfirst, they're better (they're cheaper)

my friendgot 2 Reloop Rp - 1000 MK 3, i think they're good. he made chips, orbits, flares and so on without any problems with te mk3. he made it really professional i think.

what do you think? is the Reloop Rp - 1000 MK 3 good for starter?!

Thank you for all the help!

Purchasing a GOOD mixer is more necassary than purchasing good decks if you're on a budget, in my personal opinion ofcourse...

That said, here is a nice "shiny" Numarkmixer that wont break your bank...

Can't argue with that price - you get your EQ's aswell! It's degree of robustness is something that cant be ascertained from images however... generally, the degree ofrobustness is reflectedin the cost...

ok, im going to argue again, theres no point in having a decent mixer, if the decks you mix with dont stay in time http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/rules.gif

i had soundlab DLP1's, and the truth is, i never was able to progress with my mixing, until i learnt how to work direct drives.

heres the score mate, there is no decks that touch technics, none, dont even bother you stanton boys, thats why after 30 odd yearstechnics isstill the best selling dj deck, in my opinion, if your serious about dj'ing, work a bit harder, and buy the corrrect tool for the job, it may take longer to pay, but atleast you wont have to buy two pairs of decks, becouse the first pair were sh*t http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley10.gif

Good arguement, no-one would disagree with you either (in fact I think everyone on this threadalready advocated the view that Technics are the best)... but SMASH already shared with us that he cant afford them - twice lol!

So long as we're arguing then, i'd say a bad workman always blames his tools... you dont need the best decks or whatever to be the best DJ... or perhaps somepeople do...

Which mixer did you get btw? I've never heard of a Tonar Banana System, is that the mixer? Or does the word Banana correlate to the colour of those cartridges?
