In 1993 Leke Adesoye the founder of Aerosoul clothing started designing street-wear from his north London home.

A talented free-hand illustrator, Leke was part of a new school of designers who cast a different vision over the concept of logo-based street-wear.

It was at the London College of Fashion where he homed his skills as a graphic artist and discovered an interest in screen-printing. After graduating Leke began selling his designs, initially to friends and associates in and around the drum 'n' bass and hip hop scene.

His creations, some of which incorporated cheeky twists on corporate logos may have got him notice with a few multinationals but nonetheless went down a storm among the underground club scene.

As a some-time DJ and connoisseur of music Leke's progression into T-shirt design aimed primarily at this market was for him, a natural marriage of his two passions – music and clothing.

However the Aerosoul brand quickly established a wider clientele and soon Aerosoul garments were gracing such diverse celebrity backs as indie rockers, The Boo Radleys, R 'n' B groups, Damage and Fierce and more recently teeny crooners, S Club 7.

Other personalities who have posed for Aerosoul fashion shoots include, Omar, Normski, A Guy Called Gerald, DJ Kane, MC Five O, Skitz, DJPogo, TY, Roots Manuva, Rodney P and Paradox.

Today Aerosoul has come a long way since its humble beginnings with outlets as far a field as Japan and Amsterdam. Not to mention the addition of two new lines, AS xtreme Sports and the women’s wear rage, Soulero Sista.

More to watch out for is the Aerosoul Enhanced CD Rom.This new multi-media project will feature everything you ever needed to know about the company.

Meanwhile Aerosoul's media coverage has been diverse. From teeny mags such as J17 and Mizz to serious music magazines like Mixmag and ATM. Leke has also appeared on Grooverider's Radio One Show, and was profiled on the BBC2 series Urban Heat. But the definite icing on the cake for Leke has to be use of Aerosoul clothes in British dance music flick, HumanTraffic.

The Aerosoul collection is also now available at HMV,
