need help for my condenser mic

I just gota new condenser mic. when i hooked it up to my pc it didn't work. is there any thing i need to buy or do to it?

yes, unfortunately for you a condenser microphone needs to be amplified (power), you wanted to buy a dynamic mic, condenser mics, need power, if you cant add a battery to the mic, it needs to be powered by the source, ie: the plug, condenser mics use something called "phantom power" most sources for phantom power will be upto 48 volts.


you will need a power source, or you need to change your mic, my mixing desk has a switch, if i use a condenser mic, i switch on the phantom power.
