I have only been using this program for a short time, and to tell the truth I am still going through the introductory tutorials so I am not a seasoned vetern with this app yet, but on the whole it seems like a beauty.

I should point out that I have been using Acid and Audiomulch since 1999, and that I have been using Reason since 2001. I have given Cubase, Logic and Cakewalk a good solid try aswell but although they are great they are far from user friendly if you are not big on construction of MIDI (the last three that is).

Seriously, give Ableton a go. it rocks!

I blend MIDI with my tunes but I make guitar-based, vocal led electronic music, so Ableton suits me down to the ground. It is more a good LIVE tool I am after, as I perform as well as compose.Edited by: GertrudePerkins

yeahs its wicked ableton is, its good for all those loop sample cds, just load up the wav loops and go. ive seen it used for live dnb and the results were impressive. Thinking about getting right into, maybe even playing out when i can get my hands on a laptop.

I tend to magle my own loops up in it. and also just throw mad one shot sounds through it.... it tries to make a loop out of everything you put in, so 1 shot samples sometimes get twisted beyond all recognition....:smiley2:

Quite a good programme....albeit a bit fisher price....

I got Ableton a few days ago and itsone of the best programs I have used. It took about 20mins from installing it to get mad f'd up sounds out of it. Its much more organised than any other program I have seen. Im definately gonna get into it.

I love the idea of live music, Im getting a bit tired of DJs [apart from the ones that beat juggle and scratch, yeah real djs, not like me].
