nevermind the question above ,

any way , im trying to load the new operating system , but not having much luck! i have d/l the latest o/s off akai pro, and when i try and load it onto the disk , this is what it says

vvvvvvvv

16 BIT MS DOS SUBSYSTEM

AN APLICATION HAS ATTEMPTED TO DIRECTLY ACCESS THE HARD DISK, WICH CANNOT BE SUPPORTED , THIS MAY CAUSE THE APPLICATION TO FUNCTION INCORRECTLY , CHOOSE CLOSE TO TERMINATE THE APPLICATION

Any ideas on what the story is there much apreciated , i should be on my way once i get this sorted , as recycle needs the latest o/s

cheers

sorry i didnt reply sooner to this, ive only used an akai about twice, and i found it wasnt the simplest sampler to get my head around.

Once you got your samples loaded you probably need to create banks, then asign the sample banks to a chanel, and of course assign the samples to keys on your midi keyboard.

Recycle is a wicked program, but Im not sure it will do a full batch transfer with akai samplers, I think it will only load one sample at a time, I heard that was still the case with the akai s5000

Emu's will let you load a whole batch at once, so if you chop a drum loop into 50 seperate samples, you can load the lot right into its own sample bank.

Im a bit late on this post, so how did the OS update go, be carefull doing that, as Im sure like flashing BIOS you can leave the system with no operating system at all, then youll be in real trouble.

Hope its going well.

Huy Guys. I have been able to have a lot of fun here. the style anmd the presentation of this forum is excellent. i mean the darkness is there with a blend. Well they say that Bass and Drum Both are modern or something. But i beleive that without proper and smooth bass, music is incomplete. Have fun. Keep going.
