Check this (especially the bit about the unreleased calibre classics.....Foooook !!!!!!.
Soul:Runnings
Knowledge has obtained the latest news from the hi-quality liquid factory that is the Soul:R camp. After Calibre's 'Highlander' hit shops, Marcus Intalex will be dropping 'Zumbar' / 'Temperence'. We hear the 12" harks back to all those Detroit techno classics that made their recent 1Xtra mix so memorable. The next Signature release from Calibre will feature Fats on 'Drop It Down' / 'Neighbourhood'. Calibre will be collaborating with ST Files on 'Redlight' (the track Bailey is calling 'Mistical Jungle') and 'Little Man'. They should be out in July. Calibre's remixed Zinc's 'Flim' for Bingo and is working on a remix for Good Looking.
Further into the horizon there's a collaboration EP that will open up Calibre's Signature imprint to other artists. Tracks completed so far include 'Mr Magestic' with High Contrast, named after the Welsh wizard's favourite Charles Bronson film. There's another tune with ST Files and singer Alison Crockett called 'Late Night Squeeze'. Calibre and Klute are collaborating as we went to print. Other MI:ST maybes are a tune 'Hypnotize' with DRS and a possible collaboration with Un:Cut's Jenna G.
But the single best Signature/Soul:R rumour we've heard is very far-off talk of a Calibre unreleased classics compilation. Apparently Calibre's studio contains an infamous wardrobe rammed with tapes, reel to reels and CDRs that contain 300 unreleased tunes. So many of these sountracked many a classic Swerve at the Velvet Rooms. Will this Calibre-fan's wet dream of a compilation see the cold light of day? Watch this space.
