Not my bag, but props for doing a range of styles.....
I think states have accepted garage and the whole 2 step thing a bit better than the brits have.... In the UK (North anyway) it really is considered by most to be a bit naff and cheesy.....
Is it still a big thing in London, or was that all a myth also ?

No one here really likesit too much either. A lot of my tunes are remixes of jungle tunes though.
Is birmingham still big on speed garage?

Dunno mate, i know a bunch of guys who were on a music tech course i did whoare makingspeed garagelocally, and from what i heard are making a bit of cash from it, simply because nobody else is doing it round our way.
I saw a speed garage (whatever u call it these days) set/tracklist the other day somewhere on the net and couldn't believe some of the old crap that was still geting rinsed in these sets.... stuff like Opus 3 - It's a fine day (the millionth garage remix or some bollox!, and stuff like the Nightcrawlers......remember the guy with the long blonde locks...... Jeez what was he thinking :smiley3:!)
As for the UK garage thing, it seems to have gone a little quiet already on that scene...... didn't last very long did it?

Tough time....what's the probs ?
Can't say i'm feeling Opus 3 tho, that tune did my head in the first time round with that bald headed woman (with what looked like blue dog poo attached to her head), playing with those ying yang balls....
Freaked me out just a bit too much.

I was surprized to see therepressing of rip groove and all the remixes.
I am just having a hard time getting that bassline sound. I kinda got it from manipulating the sh*t out a moog bass but still not there. If you have any tips please do share.

Here's a tune I was working on but I just lost all of my project files while switching cpushttp://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley19.gif. So I never got a chance run thru and clean it up.

Unfortunatley at work at the mo so can't listen.
With the bassline's dunno any obvious tips, but yeah a moog type bass would probs work quite well.
Other than that try combining different bass sounds together, layer them and remove the top end on one, and the low on the other to create a new 'monster sound.
Other than that, it's just trial and error i reckon. Bass isn't my strong point.
Soz can't be much help..

tumbleweed- That track is pretty old. Actually they all are. But I totally agree with you. 'She loves bamboo so i called her a panda.......hey'No one ever saidthe brits knew how to rhyme.:smiley2:http://www.itstooloud.com/webwiz/smileys/smiley36.gif
Foki- How ironic? I would kill to hear those tracks over here though. I actually listened to a lot new tunes about to be released. It was pretty sad. Guess what another remix of 'Kick in the beat' and there was a Bobby Brown rmx of 'This is how we do it'. A lot of absolute crap. But thereis a pretty decent rmx of Cutty Ranks'Limb By Limb' comming out on Echo soon and couple others. They should just call it RMX house.
FTR: I will not post up any more garage. I promise.http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley36.gif

My boy General Malice did a wicked ragga mix of that tune a few years ago.

Brought back memories..... was just flicking through some old ragga dnb round at a mateslooking for some classicsamples and that was on there.....
Some of the breaks on some ofthose tracks were just crazy...fair enough usually a load of old amens, but the way they were put together back then was just magic......
Bring back the crazyriddims !!!!!!!
