SUBS....

Is getting a sub a good idea if you've already got a decent pair of monitors.





Obviously a sub will be useful for cleaning up and getting a well defined bottom end (ooh er !!!!!), but if you're already using decent monitors with good response in the bottom Hz range then what is there to gain?





There's also the worry that not everybody has a sub, so your tunes played through a sub will sound a lot better but when played on a normal hi-fi they'll sound different....





I'm a bitlost what to do here, not sure whether it would be beneficial or not.

my mate keeps on telling me to get a sub, but only to boost my hhb circles, which arent very loud, i would have thought it will make mixing down harder like you say, but maybe not, i cant say as i dont use one either mate, -rich- might know. http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley10.gif

i got 2 absolute 2s and a sub which i think works really well as for mixing down u can turn off the sub when u feel u need 2 i keep mine on and my mix always sounds fine on any system but b4 im happy i test on ndifferent systems including the tv through dvd player but basicaly wot im saying is yes get a sub
