Can somebody recomend me a decent controller....

i want something that allows me to control the usual, but have plenty of knobs for realtime control of filters, volume, panand basically any other CC.

Just wondering also, when using soft synths in Logic how do i assign a function to the keyboard.... With my hardware CC numbers are used for the parameters which just get dialled into the keyboard, is this the same with Soft Synths ? if so, how do i identify the number ?

the best onesi reckon areedirol pcr series or the m-audio evolution series.

i went for the edirol pcr 30 because it has the most control for its size compared to the rest but the bigger evolution keyboards are mint. both have software to assign the midi controls.

if you dont mind spending a bit those novation onesare fooking fantastic, come with novation synths too

Cheers mate, these are the 3 i've been looking at.....as they're all reviewed in the latest Digital Music Maker magazine.

The novation one does look ok, but as for VFM.....i'm not sure it's worth the £500 mark they ask for it.

It's not actually for me, i'm getting my new production partner upto speed and trying to get him kitted out with everything that he'll need without having to settle for kit that doesn't quite provide the functionality for ease of use.....

i was going to say the novation too, youve already got a supernova dont you foki? but £500 smackers is loads, maybe look for second hand.

but those m-audios look well alright too and a bit cheaper then the novation stuffhttp://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley10.gif

I've got a Nova module (no keyboard version), but these aren't for me anyway.

They're for my production partner (the guy you met last time we were in Notts).
