man, i bought quite a few tunes today and i have to say some were well sh*t, and some of them are calibres tunes, theres so much of his stuff out there, im starting to think he and other labels are really scraping the barrell for tunes, the guy needs to slow down a bit, far too much stuff this month and not enough quality, i think ive got 3 x 12"'s of his all new and on different labels, and thats too much in one month isnt it, how can you put out quality with every tune when your wacking out that many, theres a few i like but thought some were pretty crap.

anyway on the plus side that new weapons of mass creation on hospital records is absolutely awsome, thats the must buy this month for sure 3 x 12"'s for £10.99 thank you so much Tony your the main man, please don release so much stuff you let the quality slide, well impressed with that purchase http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley32.gif

anyway thats my thoughts on todays record shopping http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley5.gif

erm the tunes i wasnt into are p.u.r, & badmarsh and shri, signs (calibre remix) but i got loads of his tunes today, just seems hes trying to push his jungle feel really, that was never a scene i was into much, i liked it at the beggining but when all the gangsta sh*t started i moved over to mellower stuff, like the old good looing stuff, alex reece and his cru, pulse etc.

im probably being a bit harsh on calibre, but 3 x 12"'s in the same month is a lot, just seems a lot of his older productions are creeping up cos its done by calibre and some label knows its a sure sale.

maybe im wrong, anyway will see what he comes up with for june :smiley4:either way i still got a couple of his wicked tracks for this months mix, maverick is one of em :smiley2:

i really like ''p.u.r'' and the flip ''cold halo'' but i do know what you mean (i think) about him releasing so many tunes. the problem i'm having is that theres not many other producers doing tunes as good as him right now, so i'm playing loads of calibre tunes in sets. alot of his tunes recently have been done using the sameslightly varied synth noises. i'm gonna pick up mr maverick next week but i've heard it so many times already i aint in a mad rush to get it.

Funny how you said Signs.... this has to be one of his best efforts to date i think.

Each to their own tho i suppose.

With Cold Halo, & PUR, I wasn't instantly drawn in with these, but after a few listens they really have grown on me. Think i've siad it before if a tune grabs me straight away it's more of a novelty thing, and then novelty soon wears off. Tunes that take a few listens tend to keep their appeal for usually much longer.

With the busy release schedule, i don't think he's been overdoing it in the studio i think most of the stuff coming out is just his backlog, didn't he give Fabio something like 200+ tunes to sort through when he did the CRSE album.

He probs never need go in the studio again....

As with Mr Maverick, the flip side is much better also i think.....

WOMC In my opinon is a bit of a mixed bag..... Not really feeling the Fast Soul Music Rmx, it's not a patchon the original (even tho the orig has that awful bass at the end). Could have done more with the vox i reckon.

The John B thing is a little cheesy, but this isprobs more cos i can remember the original 80's track he's sampled the vox from when i was a kid.... Plus it's all a bit repetitive don't ya think?

Heart of Love is absolute quality tho, best track on the EP i reckon.....

Laroque - Also good, but one of those novelty type tunes that wore off with me a long time ago.... can't fault it tho really !

Planet Music- Don't like it all.... cheesy MC vox that sounds like the intro to a cartoon, trancey arp beeps...not into this one at all. Shame cos i really rate Danny Byrd also.

Logistics - Replay.... ok it's between this and Heart of Love for the best tune...just love how the break sounds on this....

None of the others stand out from what i can remember, altho i can remember the bratwa thing with the bodyrock esque beats...... Not keen......

Just my opinion tho, it's just nothing new IMO.

love the tunes, infact i thought the whole set was wicked, the tune i like the least is the nu tone remix of london electricitys tune, but its still ok.

I usually get mine from 2 places, either direct from hospital (they have all the promo's on their site usually just beforeany of the shopsdo),

Or, one of the guys who Dj's and runs a local record shopround my way usually sorts me out as he gets usually a few copies ofmost decentpromos doing the rounds.
