yeah ive used protools, and its seriously pro editing and sequencing software and hardware, pretty sure its got midi control too, but its a mac thing, its well expensive and i am not sold onto protools, obviously if youve got a comercial studio saying youve got protools always goes down well, you got to have your neve studio, and also your protools workstation,,,,, wiipppidooo
over priced, and outdated now in my mind, but if i said that on SOS i would get ripped for it, but lets face it, the software is too powerfull nowadays, protools and neves just aint needed in everyday audio engineering any more.
if youve got a mac look into it, but logic is better in my mind http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley5.gif

I only used it for 2 occasions on one of the courses i did, we used it more when working with and recording a live band (yawn !!!!).
Not sure on the midi stuff, was just some't i heard (i thought it was wierd tho !).
But like Tobes said, it's not needed anyway these days (or probs any day)..... it's not what you use, it's how you use it.....
