cubase sx help version 1.06

i can get the vst instruments up but cant seem to be able to automate them. i can hit a key on say the keyboard (vst)and get a sound but how do i automate it like on a keyboard being able topress different keys and making a tune.. like a key editor.. ive got version 1.06 cubase sx.. really want the 2 version but will in time.. ive got a book on sx but it aint helping at all

not sure bout 1.6 i know in 2 you set the loop indicator (to whatever) then with your pointer click in the loop region, it should make a loop region, then use you pencil tool and double click it , and it should open the key editor for that region

yeah im using logic so im not much help, but what lost prophet is saying is pretty much the same in logic apart from in logic you have to switch on the automation for each track.


in logic we have a window called the matrix, this is where you can draw in your sounds and trigger your vst instruments etc, the only thing you need to make sure is that its set up on the right midi chanell as you could be triggering another sound module without realising it, also like i just mentioned, in logic you can trigger sounds in the matrix, even if the automation isnt turned off, but if you wanted to draw in any modulation, volume etc the automation for that track must be switched on.

ok what you need to do , is open up your vst and click on the R & W buttons in the leftcorner ------then once you have that done click on R&W buttons in your midi track, then twiddle some nobs on the vst , stop , scroll down the screan and you will see the automation track , here you can edit to your needs...... any way i hope io read your post correctly , just guessed this is what you need to know , hope thats some help?
