Fat basslines are all about having enough energy spread across a wide enough freq. range.Tunes like T minus 10 and Dillinja stuff have a large concentration of the bass in the low mid range, with a lower level, more even bass sound right at the bottom (usually below the kik) If you just blast heavy bass right at the bottom you get massive distortion further up the frequency range. but on the other hand if you add distortion in a controlled way higher up you get the feeling of heavy bass without the negative side effects.
We've just done a series of VST plugins. one of which is a multi band distortion, designed just for this. Use the mid band for distortion in the low mid. use the low band to excite the bass and make it as grimey as you like, but just enough. The best thing about our plugs is they are free:

hope you like

which is the vst on your site that would be good for the basslines, you have 6 on there (5 delta nad one s-cal)and what do the other ones do.. cheers for the help buddy.... plus dont spose you no anything about cubase sx.. i can get the vst instruments up but cant seem to be able to automate them. i can hit a key on say the keyboard and get a sound but how do i automate it like on a keyboard being able topress different keys and making a tune.. like a key editor.. ive got version 1.06 cubase sx.. really want the 2 version but will in time

crazygit, if you create a midi track, record enable it and then you can play and it records onto the sequencer. to edit what you recorded double click on it.
