well i use pretty much external hardware and have not ventured too much into vst's and plugins.

i definately recomend the novation plugins they are cool, and also absynth is very cool.

do you know either of those?http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley10.gif

and for drums i would use recylce and the esx24 internal sampler in logic :smiley2:Edited by: Tobes

Yeah I have novation nova I think but I don't use it much. I have used the absynth demo it was good.

I have never tried recycle. I really want the esx24 other people have recommended that.

I use waldorf for drums at the moment. Its okay my computer doesn't like it though.

the esx24 is already part of logic audio, so if youve got logic you have it already, recycle is a tool for chopping beats but works wonders for sampling.

i may even have to do a tutorial one day.

do you use the nova and absynth as vst inmstruments in a sequencer?

jus an opinion ...

imposcar is nice
anarchy effects is good
there's quite a few to be honest

i wonder about this dark sound ....
i think i can recognize a dark emotion in something
but ..... to answer your question

not quite sure what's dark musically
could you be more tecnical about dark ?

then i'd know which plugin to recommend ... http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/think.gif

Mmm Imposcar and atmosphere sound interesting I will look it up. I have been on a search for soft samplers and I have found NI kontakt too be quite good.
If anyone knows the name of any other samplers I would appreciate them.

I am on a mission to sort out my virtual studio as it appears to be mostly full of crap. As for dark sounds There is no technical definition as they vary so much. I will think about it....

What is the deal with Fruiy as a vst in cubase. I run Fruity quite a lot because its quick to get ideas down and you can make em sound just as good as on Cubase.

But, how /why do you use it as a vst plugin?

Touse Friuty as a vsti or in multi channel mode within Cubase or Audio Logic, just goto to your vsti instruments and select fruity vsti, its works in the same that that fruity works alone except that it now running through Cubase...

When installing Fruity you have the option to also install the vsti.

the advantage would be that you can run all you want from fruityloops and have it coming in on the mixer in cubase,

allowing you to use any of your plug in effects and then mix it down on
the same mixer as any other parts of the same song (such as other vst
instruments) within cubase without having to export and import audio
files

and while all this is going on you are still able to edit fruityloops live.

But does fruity synchronise to cubase or is it linked in some way?

I have opened fruity in cubase and I will probably have a fiddle over christmas.http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley12.gif

Yeh fruityloops should automatically slave to cubase.

You may have to change the tempo from fixed to track to get it to work, just click it on the transport bar.
