Hello all,
I was wondering if I would be able to just walk around with some type of recorder hooked up to a mic, and record sounds, noise, ect... Put it back into Reason'sRedrum or a different machine and use it to make a beat? If it's possible, what equipment should I use to do so?

thats most definately possible, the simple way is to use a minidisk and a mic, ive been surprised how good a quality you can record onto a minidisk.
but if you want to step up to a more professional way, you need a portable DAT machine, and a nice dynamic mic.
check out some of the bits for mini disks they work really well man http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/category.cgi? (http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/category.cgi?category=9130&template=homepage) category=9130&template=homepage

Ok, cool. I would rather go with the DAT if the sound will turn out better, and I canrent a portable DAT recorder at a local shop here. Thanks alot for your help.

no worries mate, but DAT's are more expensive, but definately one of the best ways to record on the move.
good luck mate :smiley2:
