i think that probably 50% of people posting mixes on the net are using ripped tunes these days, i'm not saying its rightbut thats how it is..... even more so since so many people are using software to mix with now. I guess its ok to play ripped tunes after they have been released as no 1 would know if you have brought it or not right ? i guess thats what alot of people are now doing. mmm tricky situation right. All i know is that everything i have ever mixed has been on vinyl but i'm not blind to the fact of what SOME people are doing and will continue to do, no one wants to pay for something they can get for free.

hes still about mate, www.jx3p.net (http://www.jx3p.net)

an absolutely hilarious but real site full of some of the best asslicking ever seen, including threads such as 'record deal for jx3p', where people misguidedly assumed he was a producer.

check it for sh*ts and giggles.

he was a producer all threw the 80's,, and no he dosn't mix unreleased sh*t, and if he does, he ask the artist.. he one of the few atmospheric dj's left that has put out a mix on dnb.radioeach month for the last 5 years

Sorry Northstar, I know he's your buddy and all but he most certainlyIS and always has been a pirating so & so.A while back he posted a mix of his up with Intersidereal - Disturbed Balance in it, which is of course featured on my labels first release. I emailed him and he was very apologetic and told me he had 'acquired it' (no explanation as to how but he didn't get it off me or Spectre) and was intent on purchasing the CD to make up for this. Would you believe, that order never came through!

Also - jx3p DID get sent a couple of tunes by Cryo, it's not hard to get one person onside and be sent a couple of tracks if you're a DJ, but this doesn't make up for the countless rips he's stolen in his time, I could name MANY examples… A name change isn't going to make people forget, 'Jupiter Fields' indeed...

You're always going to get people like this, and much as label owners and producers would like to reprimand them for theft of their material, there's not a lot you can do in reality, other than hope they are in the minority, which they are. I try not to get too bothered these days.

sorry mate but part of being a dj is to help promote the music and by using ripped music to doso makes him a bad dj in my opinion, regardless of his skills.

To be fair though people have accused him off ripping their music and he has been able to proove them wrong. I can remember once he said he has a "source" wether this is a person or some software i am not sure. Secondly if he said he "acquired" Intersidereal - Disturbed Balance then this could have been through a person within redmist or someone who red mist sent it to as a dub or his source again (probably a person), just because he acquired it doesn't mean it was illegally (although he wouldn't be supporting the red mist project that way).

if jx3p is really jupiter fields, and jupiter fields is really part of "SOUR"
then he's part of the biggest ring of d'n'b pirates in the world, Im not
saying its 100% but something seems a bit fishy, and i swear when i
originally posted this mix, some where along the line we spoke, and
Jupiter Fields told me he was part of "SOUR", and at the time i said to
him, SOUR wasnt welcome on this site, although he felt (note: if its the
same guy i remember talking too) that SOUR helped the scene http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley5.gif

(none of this can be taken as fact, im not 100% why i originally said
he's part of SOUR, but i know there was only ever once i spoke to some
one about it here, so if i put 2 & 2 together it makes sense, but it could
all be bollox, just my disclaimer http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley36.gif )

Ive downloaded a few of jx3p mixes in the past including this 1 its a shame he seems to be using tracks from suspicious sources & without the artists/labels permission when heclearly has agood enough grasp of the music not to have to resort to piracy. Maybe if these mixes were just shared amongst his mates then it wouldnt matter so much but allowing thesestunes all be it in the mixto be downloaded by literally 1000's of users thats not underground thats taking the piss

*Edit*

I dont pretend to know much about this scene or its innermost workings nor do I want to join the internet police so Im gonna lock this thread now &hopefully prevent a bloodbath
