hia jamesy,
i think laz is on the right tip there mate, you can time stretch but it will effect the pitch and most probably mess with the sound slightly.
im afraid i dont use acid, but if you can get hold of wavelab or soundforge you will be able to do this easy, im sure you can with acid too but its not my thang acid.
hopefully someone can come to your rescue mate.
by the way welcome to itstooloud man, happy new year.http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley10.gif

Personal preference mate...
Many people go for Soundforge but I think the name sounds gay...I think it looks gay too!

i got to say sometimes i feel i am more intune with soundforge but since sony bought the company, all you see is bloody sony stamped on everything you use like a bloody advert, wavelab is good too and does look better, but i reckon they are pretty similar, one thing i notice with sony's sound forge 7 is it hogs the processor when your running another program like logic audio and thats seems to be since sony bought the company so maybe you'll be better off with wavelab.
c ya around matehttp://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley20.gif

wavelab is tops .... loads more flexible but it might take a bit to get used to the waveform display .... soundforge has a more solid waveform ... but that's preference ...
personally i don't bother with soundforge now but i did use it for a while ...
either one is pro tho .... :smiley2:

u can do all u need in acid..i used to use acid man....i use reason and nenuendo now...but acid can do all that....if u go to pref of the sound u can beat map or just sink it to tempo....
sound forge is good....no matter what anyone says its all about how u use it not what u use!!!!http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley32.gif

I use Soundforge for this, but obviously the other software will do the same job.
Juts be careful how much you're stretching your vocals, obviously the more you stretch the more foooooked up they'll become.
Try stretching, and using a pitchtuning plug-in at the same time.... not easy to do but it will help to some degree.

im with you there mate, acid is well good for time stretching i find it a lot better to stretch stuff than using soundforge or wavelab.
