hello mate welocme to itstooloud, mate ive heard about panther being a bit uncompatible at the mo, i wouldnt recomend any spectrosonics stuff as i find it a bit over the top for a plugin, i mean 3 gig is kinda heavy, i would however recomend Absynth 2, any of the new novation plugins im sure they must be doing mac plugins but whether they are working on panther quite yet.
there is a place where the elite mac headz hang around, i know this cos i frequent there sometimes, its a place where software is free and flowing like water, its a dodgy place and you have to pay for a news server acount to be able to log in, or look out for bittorent you may find some good sh*t there too.
sorry i cant be of much help, i have a mac here but believe it or not i use the pc for music as its attached to my yamaha o2r mixing desk so the G4 sits looking pretty.
what software are you using and what sort of stuff you producing man?:smiley1:

deffinately go for the G5 man, i havent touched one yet, but ive been using panther since the beta realeases and it works real nice, i am a logic audio user and this is probably going to make me move over to the dreaded mac too one day, i use a special 16 track digital audio card with my mixing desk, and although mackie bought the company it doesnt work on a mac http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley6.gifwhich is why i use my trusty old pc.
the main problem i have with using a mac is most the software comes out on PC first, and i am pretty impartial to trying quite a lot of apps, but like i said before there are a few places if you want free mac apps.
erm you say you work for apple, can we get cheap macs through you mate?
