ez peeps,

well i ended up installing windows codename longhorm and thought i would tell you all what i thought of it, installation went fine, what i noticed on boot up is it took over two minutes until it had fully loaded, they must have done it on purpose, i suppose they dont want anyone to have the cream yet, initialy it does look quite nice, i have to say they are copying the solid gradient look that OSX panther are using, one thing i noticed that i didnt like is you get the option to make icons bigger with a magnifying glass on every window, but when you do it the icons look really sh*t, just all pixelated and blured, if you use any of the new mac OSX operating systems you will notice all icons are made of vector graphics which means any pictures or icons inlarged always look crystal clear something windows should be using was kinda gutted they havent used that, im fed up of images using pixels vector is better, the only real changes i noticed in codename longhorn is the outlay, it definately looks really cool, but i know at the moment it is just a pretty version of XP the real changes are not ready yet, but my conclusion so far is it is no way as nice as the new mac OS, i know i shouldnt really judge any alpha software butas microsoft have been handing this build out it surely will be similar, either wayif i ever get enough money i think i could be tempted to move over to the apple G5, then i can get my teeth into Logic Audio 6,, sweet

I'm just downloading it from the MSDN now, did you use the checked/debugged version? If you did that would really slow it down (it contains lots of debugging code), I did also here that the final release is going to have support for hardware 3d graphics acceleration on the desktop, that may make the difference in graphics quality you're talking about. If they are currently using software acceleration it would look a little pixcelated. These builds aren't really for marked feedback, more for developers and to help mature the the software through use.

Anyhow, I'll give it a go alittle later...
