View Full Version : Windows Media Player is a c**t
For the past threew weeks I haven't been able to open media files via streaming, nor have I been able to launch MSN Messenger, boith applications giving the same message "Server is too busy please try again" this blatant bollox because no matter what time of day I attempt to stream an Video/audio file it says the same thing...pisses me right off to have to spend ages downloading an AVI or MP3 that I might klisten to once and go "Bag O'sh*te that!" and delete it.....
...Microsft being as helpful and forthcoming as they are refer me to the trouble shooting guides whoich tell me what I already know to be complete bollox....
...I have tried using quicktime and iTunes as well and they say same thing! D'You reckon its a problem with Broadband? or should I don a pair of steelies and kick seven shades of holy sh*te out of my unsuspecting computer?
Yours expectantly

you should refer to the trouble shooting guide by microsoft,,, hehe
actualy mate, try right clicking the link and click properties, if your lucky you will get the url to the file, then in your media player, click file, then click add url,, try pasting the url in there and click ok,, see if that works,,, what version player u using man:smiley1:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the server is not responding. If you entered a URL or path to play the file, verify that it is correct. If you clicked a link to play the file, the link may not be valid."
ooo thats a new one it usually says server is busy, or that i have entered incorrect url
Got the new and improved one because the other one I had was doing the same it tries to connect to Mediaplayer homepoage but can't find page....its beyond irritating now!!!http://www.itstooloud.com/smileys/smiley7.gif

Use iTunes. I was an avid user of Winamp 2.7 until a few weeks back, using CD-EX for ripping and Nero for burning. Now I browse, listen, rip and burn with iTunes. It rocks. Beautiful search and browse system.

its just plain awful
ok so it gives you a lovely image of the album cover when you buy it.
ya can download that from anywhere yourself.
it organises your files terribly and doesnt stop duplication of a file as it dumps the audio file in a folder by name of the lp. if you have the same tune on multiple lps.... multiple files.
you cant play itunes purchased stuff on anything other than itunes stuff or non itunes stuff in itunes (or so im lead to believe altho i dont use it so i dont know)
all adds up to itunes being shite

i thought all you needed to do is convert it to mp3?
which is annoying in itself come to think of it.
