As I am a semi retired hardcore head that remembers DnB when it first exploded onto the mainstream rave scene, I would like to find out when all you lovely peoplethink that it stopped being a quirky sub genre of "breakbeat hardcore/techno" and became the jungle/DnB genre in it's own right? What would you say was the first jungle/DnB tune to be produced? And where were you and what were you doing when you first heard DnB?

ok heres my story, i got quite a few mates from good looking, infact i come from the area where a lot of the big names started out, Bucks, high wycombe area, used to have a club calld club x, had dj's like carl cox, grooverider, fabio, bukem, jumping jack frost, infact loads of the big boys now, but seriously this was before it started out, there was some f**king mental nights there man, wycombe is aa weird place, but from what my mates told me, bukem started mixing house and breakbeat, the two different beats together made a drum and bass beat, could be bollocks but that was from a pretty good source:smiley2:

Must have a wee experiment with some old house and breakbeat vinyl and see what happens then.....sort of like those programs on TV when they try and reconstruct Flamethrower ship fromt he crusades but less dangerous and altogether more tuneful....ArcheoLogical Progression
