At the minute it seems it's not the darkest forum on the net...be interesting to see how this one changes as the forum gets busier...
boy really hard to pick cause right now im listening to the darkest sh*t ive ever heard in my life (look up some paulblackout) but i spin quite a varity. but i usually pick a vibe and stick with it through my whole set i dont like to bounce from one sound to a totally different vibe i like to either start dark and get reaaaaaaaaaaaally dark or start chilled and keep chillin ya

Yeah I suppose it is abit of a art form crossing the sub genres. I journeys personally so two hours of the the same synth sounds isn't really my thing...all up for different types of dnb though...

Tobes mate...I reckon you should make this sticky so we can see how the forum evolves over time...what do you reckon?
I like ambient/atmospheric sh*t probably coz Im starting to get too long in the tooth to throw myself round all night to the same beat and tuneess repetativenoises but like to have a bit of variation, I like the msuic to progress...
..as well

mate i can make it sticky, but we need to make it a one vote only thread to get the real vibe.
and yeah my mates would agree with you one hundred percent about the atmosperics being for an older croud.

Yeah...don't agree with DJs labelling themselves and restricting themselves to one sound...but its the only way it would work...

It is hard to choose ya know cos although I have clicked Atmospheric, I equally luv the dark side (as long as it hasbounce to it and its not all WAW WAW WAW) errr if ya know what I mean! Edited by: DJDKode

Yeah Tumbles you should be able to...

18-11-2003, 08:00 PM
in that case it would be atmos & jazzical 35% each, 15% for jungle & darkness in equal measure, leaving no room whatsoever for techstep Edited by: tumbleweed

That includes Technoid too...so alot of Blame and Future Engineers missing there...
By the way I made up the catagories, and I voted for Technoid/Tech Step due to my belief certain artists were in there...others probably disagree...shouldn't pidgeon hole people anyway I suppose...

Im all for "grown up dnb" I think the techy stuff (effects old gits voice) all sounds the same! One mans meat etc.Blame stands sort of in the middle along with F E.What do you think Lazarus?

One mans trash is anothers treasure...
I reckon I'd love to hear a two hour set where some bloke (or tart, no sexism here) just played a cleverly constructed set where he played a bit of everything and took me on a journey...
However, when is see GLO artists I can stand right by the speakers without getting a headache, I love that because the best thing about a night out to me is when you're hot and sweaty and the breeze produced by the bass bins cools you down whilstvibrating all the particles inside you...and sounds wicked...
My thoughts only...
You know what you like TW...What about Blames best tune in your opinion?

My thoughtsALSO! WE NEED MORE JOURNEYS! It opens the doors (or ears) to other sounds you might of missed.
Im not good with tune titles but I like a lot of his earlier classics& glo stuff got an album on tape ofhiscant remember which 1.Ive gotta be in the right mood for it,just checkin 720 site,I like:right thru you a lot wicked beat

I have to say one of my favorite 720 12's id Osaka/Butterflies and Moths...Osaka could do with a remix 'cos its too slow...
As for blame...used to like centuries a lot, but revival has to be the most reliable for any mood...gotta be in the mood for alot of his stuff i reckon...
He is wicked though...shame about all that GLO stuff...their line ups used to be immense...not so into this new sort of sound never mind it'll change again in a couple of years...product life cycle and all that...

wicked man, listening now, thanks for the link, shame they compress them so much tho,
wow the first track i dont like at all, infat its crap for Seba, the second track is cool, but ive been waiting for some pioneering sh*t from seba, cos two of his previous tracks on GLR are a couple of my all time favorite D'n'B tracks, but he hsant in my mind come up with anything as good since, but yeah i like this 2nd track, very mellow, cheers TW
