LOL... COMPUTE! INPUT! ERROR!

Loving the idea... It would be an ideal companion on a long journey!

Sorry but why the hell would you want a DJ set up that fits in your pocket ?

I cant see it being used in a club so to me its just another way of milking the wannabees of their hard(ly) earned cash. I cant see it being used in clubs so whats the point ?

Also...

All these new techno gadgets I can see ruining the music scene more than it is already.

I know a house DJ that has given up plaing tunes in their entirety. All he does is gets old well known hooks and samples from old tunes and mashes it all up in traktor. The easier manufacturers make it to mix the more you'll have to do with the technoilogy to stand out from the crowd. To mix one tune into another will be made so easy in the near future that people are gopnna have to be a lot more creative.

Back to the House DJ point.

If people need to do more to stand out from the crowd then this is the method that most will more likely employ.

So if everyone is just using hooks and looped samples to create their flowing sets why make music in the first place ?

You can't stop technological progression... in my opinion all the gadgets in the world cannot take away the skill from those that have truly mastered the art of mixing.

Unfortunately this is only apparent to those who have a keen ear and know what they are listening to..... I am feeling quite anti-establishment today.

agreed
the techno gadgets cant TAKE AWAY the skill of those that have mastered it however it CAN cheapen it to a point where there is no longer a defineable barrier between someone who is good and someone who hasnt a clue.

ok....

case in point...

2 DJs.

Exactly the same sets of records.

1 can mix

1 cant

all tunes have been pre beatmapped by some random technology or other (matters not what or how) so there will be no train wrecks

running order of tunes is smoother and more flowing on the guy that can mix as compared to the one who hasnt a clue

the guy that can mix charges £500 to play

the guy that cant wants a free couple of beers for the night.

youre a promoter running a small dnb free entry regular night with little to no turnover.

who would you book ?
