you guys seen the video on Drum&Bass arena, the tunes a bit clowny step for me, but the video is really cool, and I can see this tune being really big, nice to see people doing things properly, looks really pro, and even though the style isnt nessicarely my favourite dnb sound, I still think it represents wicked for UK drum & bass scene.
so respects to TC and everyone involved with that.

I thought the video was done pretty well for our tiny little scene, to think the profits on music is so low right now, its a good effort, I think it will appeal and be played abroad a lot, I does have quite a pop feeling to it, and I know what you guys are saying, but personally the more d'n'b tunes we can see on MTV etc, the better for our scene.
I thought it was fun, even if its a bit tacky
oh tumbles will reply to your pm soon, sounds good to me mate :)

From a video production perspective, yes, it is nice and tidy. But it is not captivating in any way. I agree that videos are a good thing in the sense of promotional material, but if it is advertising what I really don't like about DnB and I am dead against it.
Videos like that only convey to the masses that DnB is a chav infested scene with lots of loud noises and not a lot of musical value.
This opinion already prevails.
Of course this is my opinion and I would like nothing more than for DnB to have a more mainstream approach, but I feel it needs to be done with decent productions (not ones I necessarily have to like) that showcase talent that can be appreciated.
At the moment, I see DnB heading in the same direction as UK Garage did...

DnB is not heading in any set direction, it is still going the way it always has, fooling people into thinking that the "scene" is dead, or "they dont make them like they used to" - it is still progressing into different forms without really changing the end result...
What is happening is artists like TC, or Pendulum, are having their music referred to as DnB - when it's NOT! it's some new random style of jump up beats, with ridiculous heavy metal guitar riffs and rock style vocal thrown in...
REAL DnB style holds the fort as timeless music, it hasn't changed at all... Marcus Intalex is a modern day Joey Beltram, or Photek. Calibre is a modern day PFM or Tayla. The music has still kept it s style - it's roots, but other forms have cropped up around it.
I have a massive amount of respect for TC's productions, however he does not make DnB/Jungle... his music does not even derive from it - he is the Britney Spears of the UK dance scene. Its just a money spinner...
After 13 years of loving the scene, 10 years of radio and club DJ'ing with 3,000+ vinyls, & 8 years of (attempted) production, this is the only forum that I am a member of, as this forum and it's members know and understand REAL DnB.
Fair play to TC, but i think I'll just sit here and listen to Calibre's new track "Thoughtless" forthcoming on Digital Soundboy as a reminder that there are still 20% of artists with their feet firmly on the ground.
Rant over ! :)

couldnt agree more
i can already hear all the gimps at work saying "scott... you put yourt tape on again ?" as they are all uneducated gimpstons with no dnb knowledge other than what they hear on radio1 in the daytime (ie pendulum!)
sickens me to the back teeth
i understand what youre saying tobes that is a nice ffort considering the cash turnover but i couldnt bear more than about 10secs of that clip
god damn awful and epitomises everything i hate in dnb

Come on RDG!
Erm yeah I'll be at Pendulum, simply for the fanny factor, mostly in the smoking cage out back no doubt.
This looks like heading back to the same old sort of thread. The views on Pendulum et al echo my own very much.

I agree with you Biddle that I don't class it really as DnB, but where I get annoyed is what the rest of the world think. I love the scene, the music and the people behind it, but when you mention to anyone out side of that scene what you're into they look at you as though you are dangerous!
Shouldn't be arguing this with you guys, as I think the same way as you do.... I feel a petition to number 10 coming on...
